What is Kelkoo Sales Tracking and why it's important ?
Kelkoo Sales Tracking (KST) tracks sales on your website, associates them with users, and sends the data to Kelkoo servers to measure campaign performance.
Campaign performance is measured by the Cost of Sale (the ratio of sales revenue to spend). Based on this metric, Kelkoo can select traffic sources, placements, and offers that deliver maximum value at minimum cost.
How does Kelkoo Sales Tracking work?
KST operates through two key scripts:

Lead Tag: Fires on your landing pages to identify users through first-party cookies.

Conversion Tag: Fires on the order confirmation page and captures all sales data, including the Kelkoo ID of the user.
The Conversion Tag must fire every time a sale is made to enable optimisation. Without this, we cannot accurately determine Kelkoo's contribution to your sales. Missing or altered data may lead our systems to incorrect conclusions and result in reduced sales and sales value.
Note that Kelkoo uses a different attribution model from Google Analytics, so reports across platforms are not expected to match. See the following page for more details on these differences.

How does Kelkoo Sales Tracking respect Privacy and Consent?

Our Lead Tag requires user consent to set first-party cookies. Users are only identified through an anonymous ID.

Our Conversion Tag does not require a separate user consent. Kelkoo uses legitimate interest as legal ground for the processing of sales data.

Kelkoo only takes into account the sales generated by the Kelkoo network for optimization. Kelkoo collects only non-identifiable data that cannot be used to trace individual users.

How can I install Kelkoo Sales Tracking?
We recommend installing KST via Google Tag Manager and a Server-to-Server integration whenever possible. Both methods should run in parallel for optimal tracking accuracy.
