Feeds, search or links, which is right for me?

decision_chart

If you promote URLs on offers in merchants website or any URLS in the merchant site structure, you need to use the Links

If not, you can mix solutions between feeds or search depending on the entity you need.

entities

For the offers, you can use following decision chart to find out the solution that best suit your needs:

If you need merchants or categories to navigate in your website, most of the time you need the feeds.

It's likely that you want to provide a search engine to your end users but you don't have the ability or will to store all KelkooGroup offers and build your own search engine.

In this case, you can benefit from our APIs that will do the job for you. Given a query from your end user, just send it to our APIs and we will give you the offers that match best.

Authentication

The authentication mechanism is the same for both search and feeds: JWT Authentication. You can easily switch between the solutions if you need to at some point.

Models

The offer model and its representation is the same for search and feeds as it's handled by the same platform: Offer in Shopping API. This means that switching between the two is easy as well.

Feeds are asynchronous

If you want to use feeds, bear in mind that they contain a lot of data and needs to be downloaded, then processed by your systems. This will take some time. Feeds are not meant to be retrieved at each end user request. You are responsible in this case for processing and serving the data to the client.
